Microsoft recently released a preview of Team Foundation Server 2013 and Visual Studio 2013. An exciting facet of this new release is the fully integrated, on premise support of Git as a bona fide source control option for Team Foundation Server hosted Team Projects as well as stand alone Visual Studio software development projects not associated with any centralized source control system. As I mentioned in an earlier post, the inclusion of Git is a major step forward by Microsoft in providing a truly cross-platform ALM platform. The Git integration in Visual Studio 2013 is much tighter than when introduced in TFS 2012, providing an interface that is very familiar to existing .Net developers utilizing classic TFS source control as well as an intuitive, easy to master interface for new .Net developers and Xcode, Java and Android developers to boot!
